The 3rd LIRT will be held on 16th March 2009 at the Kunduchi Beach Hotel and Resorts. Further details, including the agenda and program are as follows..... GENERAL INFORMATION Dear Delegates, Welcome to the 3rd Local Investors’ Round Table meeting. Our program starts on Sunday 15th March with a Private Sector Welcome Dinner which will be held at the Movenpick Royal Palm Hotel from 17:30hrs to 19:00hrs. The dinner will take the shape of a working dinner purposely to brief and prepare members for the 3rd Local Investors’ Round Table (LIRT) meeting. As always, the dress code for the dinner is smart casual. On Monday16th, the program starts with an early continental breakfast at 08:00 hrs arranged for all at Kunduchi Beach Hotel and Resorts, and the purpose is to familiarize ourselves with the program and prepare ourselves to receive Hon Kayanza Mizengo Peter Pinda, The Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania. Delegates include LIRT members, Ministers, Regional Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, participants from key sectors of the economy and Development Partners. The 3rd LIRT is aimed at providing opportunity to existing investors (local and foreign) and potential local investors to participate in the ongoing process of advising on how to improve the investment climate in Tanzania. The meeting will start by taking stock of progress made by the government in implementing proposals made by previous TNBC consultations on business environment and investment climate. The meeting will be guided by well researched and documented working group reports addressing seven core areas of reforms namely agriculture, tourism, human capital development, finance, land issues, infrastructure and technology, manufacturing and exports. As TNBC focus is moving steadily to sub-national level for implementation and ownership of reforms, the meeting will provide opportunity to all Regional Commissioners to interact with local businessmen in the subjects of local reforms for a better investment climate and real growth.
