The Dialogue on Economic Empowerment is expected to be conducted in Dodoma at the end of August, 2008; where the main participants of the Dialogue will be the Regional Commissioners and the Private sector representatives. 

This Dialogue started from the district where participants were derived from different walks of life and activities (farmers, livestock keepers, business community, Government officials, professionals, religious leaders, etc.), aimed at ensuring participation of all stakeholders, peoples’ ownership of the initiative of economic empowerment and use of home-grown solutions to solve local problems.   

Important agenda issues are to cover appropriately chosen groups to be empowered, cost-effective strategies for implementation and, equitable and balanced economic development in the regions.  Other issues are generation of employment and income.  Area and regional-specificity, financial back-up/facilitation, sustainability and coordination will be underscored.
